About the Central University Libraries Digital Collections

  • World War II, 1939 - 1945: Digital Resources from the Library Collections at Southern Methodist University
    An overview of the project .
    The site.

    Several smaller collections of digital materials relating to World War II comprise this project. Two of these collections have been made available, via the SMU Libraries websites, the Historical Government Publications from World War II and The Melvin C. Shaffer Collection.

  • The DeGolyer Library

    These are taken from two exhibits at the Meadows Museum in the Fall of 2004. The exhibits featured maps, books, and manuscripts from the DeGolyer Library.

  • The Hamon Library
    • The Sketchbooks of Otis Dozier: A Centennial Celebration
      Selected images from the recent exhitions that commemorated the centennial of the artist's birth. Additional materials will be made available in the coming months.

       
    • The G. William Jones Film & Video Collection
      This is the repository of the Tyler, Texas Black Film Collection, a collection of race films from the 1930s and 1940s. These films, on miraculously well-preserved nitrate stock, were transferred to safety film in 1985. With the advent of digital technology, this important collection of film history has been digitally restored.
